Just finished watching Diary of the Dead.....and Samuel is the MAN!I never knew that the Amish were so deadly with dynamite!
But I digress, the hour is late and I'll be woken early by small happy people....

Kayla turned 3 this weekend, and had a great birthday party. She would like to thank everyone that turned up and gave her presents (which is very important to a 3 year old!!!)
She managed 4 cakes in all over the weekend, several days of presents and ice cream, and lots of video calls from her friends so she's dead chuffed!
Excellent.....

Ah, a great tradition with Sweden is the coming of the herring.Every year millions of herring come flooding back into the swedish rivers to get jiggy, and being the cheesy poof of the ocean, they are easy to catch and very tasty.
I took Kayla out to see if we could catch some, which is much easier than you'd think. Chunk in a load of pink coloured hooks and they think...."hummmmm, pink and spikey" and all try to jump onto your hooks at the same time.
Kayla had a great day fishing and caught about 20 of the little blighters.....which she also helped clean and eat....that's my little girl!

....and not if you party through the night, it also works if you get up early too.....Basically with it getting light pretty much the whole time over here, sleeping sort of becomes optional, so I threw on my rucksack and took a wander to the lake at the back of my house to see if I could catch any fish.
Fortunatly my rod still scares fish away as good as dynamite, so no fish were hurt, but I did see a very good crash landing by a swan.
It was coming in to land making a really good honking noise (I guess a little like an adult might yell "wwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" if you're going really fast and think nobody is looking). As it came round the bush I was sitting near, it did a double take at me, looked reeeeally embarassed (for a swan) and then crash landed as it wasn't looking where it was landing.
Just wish I had gotten the camera out sooner.

Well, OK then, not quite pirates.....but sea lovers in any case....Managed to pick up a rather nifty little kayak at an outdoor fair recently and so decided one sunny day to take Kayla out in it.
She absolutly loved it, which means I should have even more time to get out fishing and kayaking......
Just need to attach some cannons to it now....
